I've heard a couple of times that the whispering is a line from MOON CHILD in Chinese, and when I listen to it, I do think I hear something like "朋友...家人" ("friends... family")

Then again I did encounter one fan who said that they were Chinese and it was gibberish to them, so IDK.

anyway best gackt song or best gackt song y/y?

This is such a masterpiece of a song.

You have the beautiful and slow vocal that largely stays the same pace throughout, but underneath it all the music just builds and builds and builds until it all clashes together at the end. The drumming is epic and the combination of the strings that flow throughout the song and the harder rock elements that come in later are perfect. It's a song that shouldn't work because there are too many competing elements but it does work and it's amazing. Such an impressive feat of song writing and arrangement.

It's one of those songs where I don't listen to the lyrics at all. I just let the music and his voice wash over me. I don't care what he's singing about or saying in this song.

He really needs to do this live again, and I need to be there when he does. I guess I'll keep going to any live I can get tickets for... just in case.... XD

Being an impatient person, this song was one I didn't give a chance to right away because of the slow intro. -.- What convinced me to finally listen to it was a review that someone posted on LJ (either here or in the DEARS community) that described the shift in the song as the sound of "a nightingale hitting a turbine". I thought, "O.O", so I went to listen to it again ( ... )

the drummer adds a beat long 16th note drum-kick roll to the song that isn't there in the recording. It's at 4:05 in the video posted here. It makes me (“⌒∇⌒”)
I never noticed that part! I'll be smiling now every time I hear it. ^^

For me, it's the syncopation at 4:20- 4:37 that makes me smile. (。^‿^。)
legato string note+drum beat against piano accent beat---->drum accent against strings+piano---->back to strings+drum against piano accent.

When I first heard this song, I turned my speakers all the way up. His voice was so calm and soothing and then it just blasted my eardrums and scared the $%#$# out of me. With that, there are few songs you remember so vividly the first time you heard them especially 10 years later.

I think the title of the song is birdcage because it feels like when the mood changes, the caged bird has broken free and the song really takes off. I personally think this song is a masterpiece..a shining example of GACKT's artistry!
