YFC lives - a comparison?

Aug 19, 2011 07:45

Hey Dears, now that the tour is over, and with lots of you having been to at least two lives, i was wondering if you'd be interested in comparing those YFC lives you went to. Which of them was the best in terms of sound, performance, crowd etc etc? Also maybe you'd like to tell us how the band has evolved throughout those lives you've seen?

I'm in love with the YFC. I like the last year YFC and now i like with the new members.I think that this is a good variety.In Hungary, about 700 people attended the concert.Not to much, But really nice performance.Unfortunately I have not been to another concert, but i think the Hungarian concert was so cool :)

I went to Köln and Amsterdam.

AMS was obviously the best for me because I stood front row, and the crowd seemed more responsive than in Köln. There was a long BROTHERS vs SISTERS call&response part at the end which was very succesful (there were a LOT of brothers in that venue, and they weren't shy to join in on their cue) and pleased YFC as well. I didn't see it return on the broadcast from Berlin, so I hope they get it onto a dvd somehow, because everyone needs to see it.. they were so loud. XD The Melkweg was quite full but they kept the balcony closed so I think about 1000 people were in there in the end. Q-ing was also very relaxed and well organised; venue staff made sure people with numbers went in first.

I was only able to go to 2 lives in Europe because I have a bunch of YFC lives in Japan to attend.. more ground for comparison there. 9__9;;

I've been to YFC in Japan last year, and it's certainly different.. also way more brutal, but that is a lot of fun in its own way!

I went to Amsterdam, Berlin and Stockholm, and by far Amsterdam was the best experience for me in terms of lining, waiting inside, crowd behavior during the live and interaction with the band. Though I have to mention: everywhere the sound quality wasn't as good as it could've been, I could hear 1) Chacha's guitar, 2) the other instruments, and 3) somewhere drowned in the background, the vocals. When I lost track of the lyrics I usually turned to read G's or Jon's lips and then caught on again, as I sang along for as much as I could.

Seigan_aurora already mentioned some things about Amsterdam, so I'm only adding that I was in first row in front of Chacha, and only ONE girl during the encore tried to push past me and Noalani to the first row. Other than that, I could enjoy the live to the fullest with my own personal little space, working air contidioning and water bottles being handed out by the staff ( ... )

In Berlin, the lining was going fine with all the wonderful Dears to spend the day with, but every now and then all throughout the day there were people who came to the front and had to be directed to the back of the line, and as the time for opening the doors drew closer there were more and more of them trying to get to go inside among the first and not co-operating. AND THERE WERE WASPS OUT THERE, SO F-ING MANY WASPS. Also, the security didn't feel co-operative at all, and I hate that man who checked the tickets for the left line with passion now: I got to first row alright, but started to inch my way to the left from the middle of the equipment on the right side of the stage. Made it to the edge of the stage, which was about 1,5-2m to the right of Chacha's mike stand. I was number 14, and I noticed number 32 was standing pretty much at the spot I had stood in Amsterdam, half a meter to the right of Chacha's stand ( ... )

In Stockholm... the lining went nicely with the numbers given out, but there were already quite a few tens of people camping out there so Noalani and I got there in the 40s (I was 41) so this time with the number order strictly followed, we made it to second row right in front of Chacha. WHICH WAS BAD. A hoard of GACKT fans stayed on our right ride and behind us and all in all, this live was the worst ever crowd experience for me ( ... )

Now, the only real good contact I can say I had with Chacha in Stockholm, was after the encore was over but the band was still making us cheer ( ... )

I can't make a live comparison as I only went to the live in Stockholm, but going slightly OT: compared to last year's tour, where I went to Munich alone, a lot differed (and not mainly the change of members). Personally I feel ambivalent to "which setlist was best" et cetera, but one thing is for sure - GACKT took Europe by a storm! Last year, he nudged us, shook us a little bit through the core, but this year he certainly fulfilled his promise. World domination, next? ♥
