I still wish that they did not wash their dirties in public though.
I think it was there way of expressing all their frustrations and hopefully they can draw a line under that mess and continue being the amazing band that they are. I hope the bitterness is gone for good!
Ah, can't wait to hear it but my copy won't arrive until tomorrow (hopefully) haha. I really liked reading your thoughts on it though, that was very well written.
I’d rather they keep on evolving musically and in the case of Julian vocally than churn out the same old songs just to please people. Couldn't agree more with that to be honest, I've read so much where people seem to want them to be basically releasing Is This It again rather than trying new things. :/
People don't like change, I've seen similar attitudes happen with other bands I follow and it annoys me because being creative and evolving is a part of a musicians career.
Yeah that's true. I've seen it too with other bands I follow, and it bugs me for the very same reason. Luckily for me, I suppose, I'm pretty much in love with Angles now that I've listened to it.
I got my CD a few days earlier than the official release date & still haven't listened to it yet. I'm still basking in the afterglow of the Vegas concert, which was AMAZING & their "older" songs still feel so new to me since I'm a fairly new Strokes convert. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm afraid I'll be disappointed. I ran through all of the songs quickly & my first impression was that Machu Piccu & UCoD were the best songs. Two songs out of an entire CD is not good. I'm just hoping Angles is a grower, not a shower & it'll grow on me when I finally just sit down & give it 100% of my attention.
I'm going to see them again at the Sweetlife Festival in DC! Wee@
It's a grower, seriously give it about half a dozen listens and it will capture your heart. Also its best listened to with headphones so you can catch all the background bits and understand Julian a bit better.
Wow the album is so good I'm totally in love with machu picchu, taken for a fool, ucod, call me back and life is simple... ♥ ♥ ♥ I like their new sound, we already have one Is this it so why ask for another?
Yayyyyyyyyyy, Anglessss. Oh, scheisse, why did I not see this post earlier. I could've caught them on Letterman. Dammit. There are some hits and misses on the album, but I like it overall. It just makes me happy to see them active again, those guys. Daw.
