The Strokes' Julian Casablancas was honoured with Xfm's Inspiration Award at the O2 Academy Brixton tonight (December 16).

The award has only ever been given to one other recipient before and that was Mick Jones of The Clash who received in on stage at Brixton two years ago. Casablancas received the gong onstage at Brixton from Xfm's Ian Camfield.

This prestigious award recognises the fact that Julian led the most important band of the decade - The Strokes kicked guitar music into the 21st Century, made bands cool again and got girls back onto indie dance floors. For that, all of us at Xfm, are VERY grateful.

Awesome!! It's my album of the year too (well, Phrazes is the only album that was recorded on 2009 that I started listening to this year...but anyway)!

Sometimes I feel as if The Strokes (I'm not talking about Is This It) are underrated. They released two other awesome albums (at least in my opinion, but ROF and FIOE were really good albums, maybe people were expecting something as epic as ITI coming from them, I don't really know). I think if ROF and FIOE were released by other bands, people would be jizzing in their pants over them. Or not.

I want to buy that NME, but I can't find the magazine anywhere! I wanted to buy that issue that had the best artists of the decade on the cover, but the stores didn't receive. I'd also kill to have that one issue about the 10 years of The Strokes, but I think it'll be impossible to find. fml

And I'd love to see Julian playing Moonlight Sonata. Oh yes I would.

He's really funny! He talks more vibrantly about other people's work than his own. Hmm.

I laughed so hard at "my woman". ahahahahaha
