Okay! So...I...um... *shuffles a bit* ...wrote a fic thingy. A serious one at that. *is very tempted to hide*
But I do hope this is relatively enjoyable, given its serious tone and my writing skills... Hell, I'd settle for people knowing what's going on!
Title: A Body of Memories
Recipient:
dual_aviRating: G
Pairing(s): faint hints of Sora/Riku, Roxas/Riku, and possibly Roxas/Axel.
Genre: Sort of angst but not really? *blinks* I'm just as surprised.
Warning(s): None
Notes: This is based off of an idea I've had for a KH comic for a long while now.
-Takes place after KH:Chain of Memories but before KHII. This is after the first battle between Riku and Roxas (where Riku, in his regular form, proceeded to get his ass kicked).
-Special thanks to
myrafur and
questofdreams for the beta and feedback! Everything else is all me. O_O
A Body of Memories
Why is my skin burning?
Roxas looked up, just to be sure. No, the pale light of Kingdom Hearts continued to shine coldly down upon him. And continued to remind him of hair the same shade of silver.
“Why do you have a keyblade? Who are you?!”
He stared into blue eyes shining with the intensity of light on a warm tropical sea.
But he had never seen such an ocean before. Right?
The sense of spatial distortion warned the boy of unexpected company.
“Still thinking about that fight, Roxas?”
Not wanting to speak just yet, he shrugged at his red haired friend’s bemusement. Axel took that as an invitation to stay and he leaned on the railing. They lapsed into a companionable silence.
Roxas returned to the contemplation of his hand. The same hand he had used to hold the strange boy down after knocking his dark blade aside. It had been more of a fight than he'd expected. Desperation lent tenacity to his opponent’s attacks but in the end, he proved the stronger fighter.
“Why fight so hard? You can’t beat me.”
“I have to save someone very important to me.”
“Come on, Roxas. It’s not like you knew the guy,” Axel finally said, exasperated. “Besides, you won without having to kill him. I know you hate doing things like that.”
He couldn't kill that boy. Not after the jolt that tore through him when he had touched pale skin.
He felt compelled to move his hand up and cup the bruised face, so unfamiliar. But it didn’t feel strange at all when that head unconsciously turned to nuzzle his palm.
Something in him knew that body and the answering heat beginning to coil in his veins; knew that sigh when it spoke the name that had plagued the length of his existence.
“Roxas? Yo, anyone home?”
“No,” Roxas responded absently, lost in his confused thoughts. “Not yet.”
A welcome breeze soothed his heated skin and he thought he heard that sigh again. Felt the renewed warmth in his body.
“Sora…”
He wouldn’t tell his friend anything, because Axel had a tendency to worry about him, but if he saw that boy again… Next time, maybe he’d go with him.
END
And because I really can't help myself when it comes to drawing (dude, this makes more sense as a comic in my head)...I did an hour doodle. Thanks to my dear
myrafur for giving me the go ahead!
....Okay, that's it, I swear. If no like, I'll give you a coupon? Not sure for what but I'd get you one! *slinks off like a slinky down a flight of stairs*
