::snickers:: I'll have to find you a picture of the full get-up, it were brilliant! Also, I can now die happy knowing that I've watched Danny unbuttoning Doug's trousers and take them off for him... ;)
The boy is weird. He's only a scared little bunny when he's not so utterly mullered that he forgets the entire concept of backing vocals.
You've done a great job of showing-without-telling what the three older ones feel for their little buddy... it's almost palpable. If you come back to this later, try to do the same for "still drunk" in the first line and "wouldn't want to be..." in the last.
I wondered at first whether Doug would be getting to the anxious and apologetic stage of drunkeness, but I think you're right. That would come later; in the taxi maybe, or at home, once the adrenaline has stopped flowing.
(I always remember Michael Caine doing an acting masterclass on BBC2 a few million years ago, coaching some younger actors in a few scenes from Alfie. The thing about playing someone who's drunk, he said, isn't to play them as drunk, but as drunk but trying to be sober.)
"You muppet"? Now where have I heard that before :-D (tho', do Tom and Harry ever call him Doug?)
A little challenge for you for sometime later in the month: set yourself a budget for and's, just to see whether you like the result
( ... )
Thankee! It's so horribly rough, but I am forcing myself to do this. Yayes!
He was starting to get a little quiet by the time they got off-stage, but not enough for him to be in the down-stage of drunkenness. I do pity Danny for having to put him to bed later, though!
Ha! That's brilliant! Michael Caine ♥
I'm sure I've heard Harry say 'muppet' before... H+T call him 'Doug' occasionally. Harry more so. I think they picked it up from Danny, bless.
It was a surprisingly good show; there were others, I think, but either I didn't see them or just don't remember them. Wish they'd do more stuff like that. They also used to do music masterclasses (classical and rock, iirc), which were amazing.
I was thinking, I haven't actually heard much of them recently, which is bugging me a little because I'm sure their speech patterns have changed even in the past year.
I am good at making things up as I go along, it's how I get through life!
Heh! Today's word count is going to be a bit more of that other fic, seeing as I literally have twenty minutes to get something down and then go out! I'm kinda itching to do a Danny+Dougue BFF piece, though...
There's some pretty good music masterclasses on satellite tv. Once I move, I'm going to start taping the guitar ones. I need to be practicing more, and I find it easier with visuals, than a book...
There's been a few recent interviews. mcfly_daily is a great comm to nab things from, because otherwise, I don't notice things. I can upload you a few if you want them?
