It had been a long time since Clementine had a hangover. Usually, she either didn't get them at all or managed to sleep through them. She could really use a fucking aspirin right about now

In her years on the road, Penny Lane had woken up next to a lot of people, with varying degrees of hangovers and memories of the nights before. Never once, though, through all that time, had she ever found herself in bed with another woman.
It took a few moments after she woke up, her own head aching from the night before, for Penny to realize that she wasn't alone in the bed, and even then she had to blink a few times before she figured out that not only was there someone next to her, that someone was Clementine.
"Oh, fuck," she groaned sleepily, though it was a more a dry laugh than anything else. "This...oh, God."
She wasn't so much embarrassed or feeling awkward than it was simply unexpected, what with the whole never having woken up in bed with a girl before.
To be honest, Clementine had expected to wake up next to Rupert or something. At least, that's the way the night had seemed to be going after midnight. But after that kiss, the night was a blur.
She turned, eyebrows raised at Penny.
"Oh baby, oh baby." She said, "Was it as good for you as it was for me?"
Laughing for real, Penny raised her own eyebrows, one arm stretching up over her head. "I'd tell you," she said, wry, but honest, her head still spinning as she tried to figure out exactly what had happened, "but...I don't exactly remember."
Despite what she was admitting, and as weird as this was, she did grin. "Good party," she added, as if that would help explain it all. She did know she'd had a lot to drink. And that punch.
"Me neither," Clementine admitted, sitting up. She immediately regretted it. Her head was fucking killing her. She dipped her head and closed her eyes with a groan.
She couldn't remember just how much she'd had, only that, at some point, there had been penguins. Thank god she hadn't fucked a penguin.
