Hell, I'll talk to anyone who's listening to Jane's Addiction. And I'd also talk to anyone who's documenting 4 1/2 alley. Keep me updated on the process. One of my favorite activities in that town was alley-walking. I could never convince enough people that they should photograph those spaces. 4 1/2 alley is a goldmine. 3 1/2 alley isn't bad either if you know where to look. And you can get on plenty of rooftops from there as well.
Yeah, the problem with rooftops is someone will eventually make you leave. They don't like that. Unfortunate, since I also love a rooftop. Um, stand in front of 1210 4th Ave. Your back will be to the Union. (As it should be.) Whatever the building is directly to your right used to have easy rooftop access from the outside. I think the access was from the right side of the building as you're facing it. Also, you should not try to access the rooftop of the Junior League building that I think is on 9th Ave. near 8th St. It's easily done from the house next door and is a cool space, but if the owner finds out you've been up there, she sends her thug son and his friends around. Not pleasant in the least.

Now that you mention it, that might have been a better way to advertise the story. I will remember it in future.
