Ordinarily, this is the time of year when I complain about all the films, actors, or technicians who didn’t get Oscar nominations. "Lego Movie" not being nominated really IS weird isn't it? I wonder whether that live action bit towards the end had something to do with it...
What do you mean "at least 'Everything Is Awesome' was nominated? That's a frikkin' TERRIBLE song! I'd rather they nominated the Batman song, "Darkness! No Parents!" ;)
I'm not surprised that "Snowpiercer" isn't getting nominations. Most people haven't seen it. They barely released it anywhere. I made a point of buying the region one DVD because I wanted a decent quality copy of my own, but it's still not been released here in the UK.

I really disliked the live-action bit, too. That's what kept it out of my top ten. Just a bad, bad misstep all 'round, especially if that really was what kept it from the nomination.
Snowpiercer didn't get as much of an audience as I would have liked, but it still played for about a month here. I'd be willing to bet that more people saw it than saw films like Princess Kaguya or Still Alice (which only got a limited release specifically so as to qualify for the Oscars, but still hasn't had its wide release). I wonder if it and Under the Skin aren't just too weird and brutal for the Academy.
Oh, you know you love it! Come on, sing it with me! "Everything is Awesome!!! Everything is cool when you're part of a team!!!"
