Ohhh, this post has made little me phenomenally happy. Made my essay-frazzled self actually make a noise and smile of 'squee'.

I was reading my copy of 'HHC' this weekend to keep me sane and perk me up during breaks from writing. I think the Vane/Wimsey books are the only ones I have on my bookshelf that are not university required reading but still have pencil underlinings marking out all the bits I love (I have all the HHC quotes you have here underlined, and to now get icons of them make me happy).

PS- I'm only a Wimsey fan from about a month ago, but I think it's gonna be for life. :)

i'm so glad to have made essay time easier for you!! i had a bit of a glitch with the file sizes. i'll be posting strong poison and gaudy night icons later (probably next month)

if you haven't read gaudy night and busman's honeymoon yet you have incredible books to look forward to. its definitely a life long love. once you're hooked that's it. i grew up watching the BBC versions so i was shanghai-ed quite early. as peter says "its drilled into one when one's too young to resist". luck on your essays!!

Oooh yes, I cannot wait to read them. I am trying to save 'Gaudy Night' for my long train journey home from university. I keep going past the bookshop and having to stop myself going in, buying it and devouring it. I consumed 'Strong Poison' and 'HHC' incredibly fast, I have never been so feverish to get the next book as I was after 'SP'. No other books I've read have ever made me smile that much. I had never heard of either the books or the tv adaptations. I got into them because since 2005 I've been a huge fan of Harriet Walter and now I'm becoming totally enamoured of the whole world of Wimsey, not just Harriet Vane (though her mostly).
