So...

...I've totally lost all of my initiative for my comic now. I did all my drawings on shitty paper and I'm totally terrified of all my inking pens right now. My hands are really REALLY shakey lately and I keep messing everything up ( Read more... )

you're silly.

Is that a ghost?

Are you sick or dead or something by the way? It seems you've been gone for a while.

(you're still silly)

no no. I don't stress about school. It's the snow, the snow. I ahte it with a passion, and having it pouring down outside your window when you wake up is very unpleasant. T______T

(I love your icon BTW. Go Iruka-sensei!)

It snows like mad here. I hate it. It's okay the first day it falls and then I'm sick of it and want it gone. *shakes fist at snow*

Ahh...I'm almost done too. It's nice.....

Well, it's snowing here too, and it's really cold this is freaking rediculous. If it makes you feel any better, I passed calculus with a 50 the first time.... so I guess hatred for it runs in the family? Well, for us anyway... Hey, come to think of it, so does the shakey hand thing... Are you trying to be me? Yeah, I know, I only wish I was that cool. So I've been reading people's confessions on grouphug.us, they make me feel better, you should try it, maybe it will make you feel better too? Or take your own advise and eat some meat. Do it!

grouphug? That's gay. : D

I'll go eat some meat. Maybe an entire cow. Mmmmm...cow.

I've always had shakey hands, it was just REALLY bad today. Weird.

That was my life all winter. Wearing three large hoodies and wrapping myself up in a blanket and sitting and shivering with a hot cup of ginseng tea. I'm moving to the desert, I swear. -_-

I said this already on deviantart but oh my god, that duck song made my day when I heard it. Thank you so much for sending it to me ^^

If your hands are shaking like that it's probably due to stress or nerves. Try to sit down and work some stuff out. Or, to make you feel better while approaching your work, you could try to do just loose, gestural sketches WITH pen.

That's probably a good idea. I really need to get better at using pens. It's because I use way too many messy lines when I should be making clean ones. The hard black of ink scares me.

I was wondering, do you use felt pens, like microns or staedtler for your inking or do you use nib pens? You always have really nice lines.

I went and got some nice sketchbook paper for a commission for a friend of mine. I think that got me motivated again.

Yeah, lately I've been using micron pens, but I didn't used to. I would use random pens for my earlier work, like Pilot or whichever. (Thanks for the compliment!!) One piece of advice for clean lines? For a while, I wasn't even concerned with how clean my lines were... I wasn't really aware of it? I just tried to flow along, I guess, and while now I can flow and be attentive at the same time, I've noticed that when I make it a conscious, die hard *decision* and *effort* to make the lines clean, they wiggle too much. Pressure disrupts flow, I suppose.

Also, you could again, just do some work with gestural marks, and not really care about how clean the lines are--experiment with pressure, position, strength, whatnot. A flow will eventually seem to float and settle into your hand and wrist.

*nods furiously* Okay! That's really good advice. I think I'll try that. Actually I noticed that too, when I'm trying less hard it turns out better.

I just got a nib pen that I totally fell in love with, but the ink I have runs with markers, so I need more ink. I know that most manga-ka use nib pens for drawing and Microns for like...speed lines and panel lines, so I'm trying to get used to teh nib.

I'm definetly taking your advice though. Thanks so much!
