-Eh? The little light has come on and it says it's recording, how interesting. What a place, quite unlike any I've seen. It doesn't look like a lost memory of a place from just beyond, does it? Interesting! It shouldn't be too bad that I've been caught here away from everyone, even if I was just in my home. Funny, really, isn't it?

I haven't heard of anyone by that surname, but the City is quite large---he could be here.

Erm...

If he is, I hope that you find him soon...

[ pause...he is trying to find the guide to send...trying and failing... ]

[the little bit of laughter hits again, but it's shortened this time]

And there's quite a few people here! In the thousands, I see. But there are probably rabbits here, just not the ones we're looking for.

It's all right if you haven't seen any ... It's hardly your fault.

Most things seem to be my fault...and he did say it's not a case of an Evil Fate but I can't think of any other explanation for the terrifically bad luck---

Lots of people, and not-people. You'll get an even better idea, the longer you're here.

[ pause.... ]

What is your brother's name, if you don't mind me asking? That way...I mean, I suppose the surname is distinctive enough, but...if someone was to mention it, just first or last...it could be helpful...I think.

Gilbert! His name is Gilbert. It could be helpful, because he might not think to give the whole name.

Or he might give a false name...I don't think it's only me and Christopher who....well, our first names are true at least...

I'll keep an ear open for it! I haven't heard of anyone named Gilbert so far. I can ask some of the people I've met here who have been here longer though.

I should hope that he would comment here if these devices are public, but it's possible he hasn't worked it out, either!

[curiouser and curiouser 83....]

You have nothing similar to this sort of technology in your world, then?

Of course not! Everything here is very different.

[ ALITTLE miffed at 'of course not' because that's why he asked but trying not to sound miffed....maybe failing a little ]

That's the one thing everyone seems to agree on, for one reason or another.

[ fff sigh that in person would equate to a shrug and the awkward rubbing of the back of his head because bother...bother...]

Not really.

[ And, he isn't..really, just you know, a little.]

Good! I wouldn't want that, after all.

I'd hope not...

...did you find your way out of the gardens yet?

I've been talking to you, but I suppose I should start walking.

Oh...

[ pause of oops...and orz and derp ]

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to keep you from finding your way. That is something you'd need to concentrate for, having just arrived.

I hope that if your brother is here you find him soon, Mr. Nightlay.

You needn't apologize! I wouldn't be moving any faster if I were without help. I can move now and talk, though.
