CHALLENGE: Flashfic
ANNOUNCEMENT: The office_romances Flashfic Challenge, ie, Let's Finish Off This List, Guys
How it works, option a:
1. Pick an unwritten pairing. (The list of unwritten pairings is below.)
2. Then, you will make up your own prompt. There are three lists below; one of situations (mostly locations), one of elements, and one of quotations/songs. Pick one situation and EITHER an element or a quotation/song. Then write a fic for your chosen pairing that incorporates the things from your prompt.
2b. The quotation list includes some uploaded mp3s. The idea for these is that you download them, listen to then, and write a fic inspired by the song, in whatever way you want. (NOT songfic - but fic that reflects the mood of the song, or one lyric, or all the lyrics, or whatever - see the_avril_game for examples of fic inspired by songs.
3. Ideally, fic is short - say, between 100 and 1000 words - and written quickly.
4. Pairings are encouraged to ACTUALLY be pairings. (I know that we've kind of now taught this fandom that X/Y can mean X&Y, but let's keep the pairing/gen distinction if we possibly can. Not that the pairing has to have sex, but they should at least have a fluttery feeling in their stomach.)
How it works, option b:
1. Get a friend to give you one number between 1 and 54, and two numbers between 1 and 25.
2. The first number is the pairing you'll write; the next two numbers are your situation and element OR quotation/song.
3. Proceed as above.
The Prize:
Whoever writes the most pairings for this challenge in the next two weeks (so, by midnight on Sunday, October 22) will be declared the winner! She will then receive a fic of her choice (for this fandom) co-written by me and kyrafic, of between 300 and 1000 words. ONLY pairings that haven't yet been written will count towards this prize. (You can still write pairings we've already got - they just won't count towards the prize.)
Administrative Details:
I've modified the master list - characters that aren't regulars have been taken out. They've been put in a list of "bonus characters" - you can totally pair them with anyone you want, and that'll rock and we'll put those pairings on the master list, but they're not on the list we're trying to complete any more. The bonus list now consists of Andy, Bob Vance, Carol, Gil, Josh Porter, Karen, Katy, Madge, Mark and Todd Packer. (If you do write a pairing with a bonus character that hasn't been written yet [see the master list], that WILL count towards the prize, however.)
This also means that we are now more than halfway through the list, which is exciting!
A few of these unwritten pairings have been claimed, so I'd recommend choosing other pairings before you choose those ones. HOWEVER, if you write one someone else has claimed but not yet written, that'll still count towards the prize.
IN CONCLUSION: A+B+C(1 or 2) = DELICIOUS FIC.
