Let me once again expound on my love of the internets. Really and truly.

All week long, wendywoowho has been talking up her love of 1776, which I'd seen once in the 7th grade and remembered enjoying, but really hadn't seen since. I knew how awesome it was (I mean, if you involve William Daniels in anything, the awesome is sure to follow), but I didn't own ( Read more... )

I really liked season 1 of Dr. Who, but between season 1 and season 2 they CHANGE THE DOCTOR! In the first episode of the second season, there's some weasely pseudo-Doctor actor posing as the real Doctor. I was so irritated. I gave the second season a serious chance, but I was so irritated by the new Doctor (and by Rose's treatment of Mickey, in general) that I've given up.

If you want to scratch your scifi itch, check out a series called Threshold. I've just started it, and it's great! Really great.

Funny you should say that - a large swath of my Who-loving friends are MASSIVE fans of the S2-3 doctor, and have told me that the S1 dude is pretty good, but the other guy (David Tennant) is amazing, so.

I think my dad liked Threshold, but it held little interest for me when it was originally on. What do you like about it?

Huh. See, I'm *really* not feeling David Tennant. He's sort of weasely and way too intense and not very attractive. Christopher Eccleston (S1 Dr. Who) is impish and expressive and downright hot.

Really, I think it comes down to the fact that I want to jump Christpher Eccleston's bones, and I'm pissed they replaced him with a weasel.

I'm really into aliens and scifi lately. I love the casting on Threshold. I mean, they have Data from Star Trek as the dubious doctor, they have Rob Benedict as a rather endearing nervous nelly, they have Peter Dinklage, who's awesome in everything he does. I also love that the aliens are 4th- or 5th-dimensional, so there are all sorts of neat special effects. The writing is pretty solid. It's suspenseful and a little gory. It's like they created this show specifically to push all my buttons. The only way they could improve it is to add Christopher Eccleston. :)

Also, Rose treats Mickey like crap, and I really like Mickey. He gets a raw deal.
