Man, it has not been a great week for me as a consumer of entertainment. At the moment I'd like to thank Castle, NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, The Vampire Diaries, and Supernatural for being Good to Excellent lately.

I do have to say two things: 1) I fully intend/expect to become an Eileen Fisher lady in my waistband-eschewing old age. 2) As narrow-minded and annoying as the judges are, they did give me my new favorite catchphrase, which is "that isn't fashion ... that's CLOTHES!" with clothes said in the same tone of voice as one would use to say "rat carcasses" or similar.

2. LOL. I don't know what's wrong with clothes - I wear them every day! Am I doing it wrong?! *gasp! clutches pearls*

YAY VOICE!

I've never been a big fan of Marie Claire, and this whole thing has just solidified my opinion that they're pretty pandering and awful and...ugh. I may get a new Elle subscription after this; mine somehow lapsed. I've always found them pretty intelligent and thoughtful, although focused on the skinnies, but their fashion coverage has gotten less helpful as time has gone on and their art director has gotten obsessed with black and white.

That's the problem. I still miss Mademoiselle, to be perfectly honest. I forget what magazine it supposedly got folded into, but aside from Sassy, the one mag that came close to getting it right was that one.

Exactly - Gretchen? wtf? I mean I get what the judges were saying about Andy's collection. His choice of color had a lot to be desired and it wasn't truly a representation of him as a designer. He showed much more depth throughout the season but it really didn't end up in his collection ( ... )
