[Right now there are no real reasons for her to say anything, but the journal's open on her desk anyway. You never know, around here. Whatever Nephry's doing this morning, it's quiet work aside from the occasional soft 'hmm' of concentration. So the slam when Dist throws her door open - without even knocking - stands out]

[Gelda's lucky; her house is one of the few that isn't above a tunnel. Still, the wild shaking is more than enough to alarm her, and this entry even moreso.]

[Gelda may well get answers from both of them, but through Nephry's journal since it's the one down there. At any rate, it will be a while before this one says anything, and hopefully Gelda's kept trying to reach them vocally]

Professor? [she sounds woozy]

[Oh, she has. Though, in the meantime, she's been running through the village to assess the damage. It's quite the relief when she finally gets a response.]

Nephry! Thank goodness, are you alright?

[Dist is with her but it's such a relief to hear that someone else she cares about is all right]

I'm...I'm sure I'll be fine. We're trapped right now.

D-Damn this blasted place--!

[The moment the glass of the windows shatter, Dist knows they're both in trouble. The floor seems to just fall away and he make a valiant effort to shove Nephry out of her room before the ceiling caved in, but it was a wasted effort.

Dist cries out his friend's name one last time when he sees a heavy piece of the house crash down before them, separating the two from view of eachother. The rest comes raining down moments later, and Dist folds with the weight of debris falling on him.]

[That shove probably kept her skull safe from being crushed. She hears Dist call her name again and tries to answer, but she's choking on dust and there's nothing underneath her anymore. A hard landing and an intense feeling of being shut in somewhere tight is the last thing she registers before a heavy bit of house knocks her out.

When enough dust clears, and with what light there is filtering down from where half the house used to be, Dist should be able to find her, half-buried...assuming he can get out]

[Dist, being the roach he is, sustained little more than a few cuts and scrapes, perhaps a bruised rib and some fractured bones, and a throbbing headache. Probably from the cut along his forehead, trickling blood down his face.

He hissed, coughing on dust, and heaved off a bit of plaster and rock that had fallen over him, snagging on another bit of rubble. He was thankful for that. It if hadn't, he'd have been crushed completely. Holding his throbbing head, and wobbling due to the wonderful dizzy spell, Dist calls out for Nephry as he falls to his knees again.]

N-Nephry?! Nephry, answer me! Tell me you're all right!!

[For the time being, he won't be getting much of an answer. Her journal should be nearby and open, so if he finds that - and it's probably full of people shouting and so forth, making a lot of noise - she can't be much farther off.

For her part, she will hear him after a while, but she's too out of it to do much other than listen and hope to collect herself enough to answer. Well, and realize that her head is pounding like someone's bouncing a boulder on it, and one lens of her glasses has shattered.]
