I wanted to use a rhythm that left you feeling a little bit disjointed and uncomfortable with what was happening, while at the same time giving the feeling that Xander wasn't quite all there and more than a little disassociated from what was going on. That and I really like writing stories that are almost prose, it's just hard to do in any scenario when the headspace of the characters doesn't call for it. ^.^

I'm really glad you're liking it, it's definitely a writing style I enjoy using.

Well, when you said dark, you weren't kidding. The deconstruction of Xander is painful to read.

I have tried to warn people as much as possible that it wasn't going to be pretty. Hopefully you won't find the putting him together bit as painful. Thanks for keeping up with me so far.

I am trying to get to the rescue part, believe me, but my muse is being a little more than unco-operative. I swear it's a massive sadist. But rescue will come, I promise... eventually =S
