I’ve just sent my exchange piece to the mods!

Jul 29, 2012 15:26

It’s not finished, it’s not beta-ed, and it’s not even very tidy, but at least it’s sent, so hopefully I’m not about to be kicked out of the exchange. Unless they actually read it . . .

I’ve been sent a (nearly) completed fic to alpha and am very excited to get stuck in. So far I’ve only seen it in bits and pieces, and I can’t wait to see how it ( Read more... )

Go you! I am sure your work is excellent - after all, the mighty Shiv herself said that what they had received so far was top notch!

I think sometimes it's good to strike while the Muse is upon you, so go for deeply_horrible. If I've learned anything from this year's Exchange, it's that I don't work well at all under this sort of pressure if I'm not inspired.

And finally, thank you for the shout out - heck, I'm just buzzed to the max that you enjoyed it!

It's not looking that sharp yet, but hopefully my darling alpha will help prod it into shape soon enough. Bits of it I'm very fond of. Other bits still read a bit like filler!

I'm never very sure what's genuine inspiration and what's coffee. Still, the end results are pretty similiar. I think I will sign up!

Aw, it was my first ever gift fic - I'm going to treasure it forever.

I'm fully counting on the fact that they don't actually read the submissions, just look them over for word count. I've written scenes out of order, when the must strikes for particular scenes, so if someone reads it, well, they are going to be lost. Let's hope that is true ... gulp. :) Good for you for getting it submitted! That must feel good.

It certainly is a relief to have it sent! Slogic replied so quickly that there is no way she could have read more than a few paragraphs (which is good as the first couple of pages are rather presentable). I'm hoping they're far too busy to attempt any more - I don't always feel that comfortable having an alpha read a WIP, let alone anyone else!

I'm the same - there are big bits missing or little summaries in brackets all littered throughout. Still, it's sent now :)

Oye you've had a rough go of it. A little lone time tends to do one a world of good. *hugs* (And bah to the people saying such that you maybe ought to be bothered)

Yay! Is it scary? Hey you've completed step 2, which is more than many others (including me!). I'm at a low word count and not exact-plan for the rest. Hope that's enough.

I'm hoping that this will mean a lot less worrying, a lot more writing!

It was a bit scary! I thought I'd best send it today rather than getting all caught up in real life and missing the deadline. And I doubt they'll actually read all of it . . . eek!

I'm sure :) Well, more writing or not, I just hope you get some rest and mental recoop. That's a lot of changes to deal with.

I can imagine and that's smart thinking. I have a google reminder set to kick me in the rear end a couple of days...oh that's tomorrow. Damn! Time flies haha

*hugs* It'll pass, eventually. We now live somewhere beautiful, close to my family, so that helps. Hope things are a bit better for you, too - you've sounded a bit down recently *more hugs*

I know! Where have the last two momths gone? If you need any help/cheerleading with your fic, just let me know, okay?

:)

Can I just say how truly, madly, deeply envious I am that Teddy wrote you a fic :o)
Just had to get that off my chest.

And I was wibbling like a jelly sending my stuff off for the mods to look at. I thought...summary! I didn't know they wanted a summary! What the heck can go in my summary?
Answer: They didn't need a summary. Duh!

I hope P feels better soon. Low blood pressure is a PITA.

Isn't it wonderful? And how incredibly generous with her time and talent!

Aw, bless you! Sending fic off is terrifying, isn't it? Still, I've learnt not to be so precious recently. I've had so many people alpha and beta for me recently that I've had to learn to toughen up a bit.

Hopefully a couple of days with his mum will see him right. She's one of those terrifyingly capable women who can do just about anything. Doubtless she can glare his lbp into submission . . .
