I would highly recommend Kindle. The app is free on Amazon's website and there are thousands of free books available as well.

I have a kindle and use 'Calibre'. It acts as a sort of library for all my e-books, which i transfer to the kindle as needed, but the beauty of it is that it converts all formats to the one the kindle uses - so you're not tied to amazon. Not sure if it's suitable for what you have, but it's worth checking out.

Ooh tablet! Which one? I think breakfast is a cute alternative. Fun!

As for the tablet, no idea! It's not a popular model. I think it might be unbranded, although it uses Android. It's rather exciting.
Going for breakfast is still quite a novelty in the UK. Lot's of fun!

I'm a super-Android-fangrl! I recommend dlding the following apps: Chrome, of course. Pocket (for bookmarking articles & such). Kindle. Dropbox. Cozi (though there are many other free organizing/to-do list kind of apps out there). Evernote (especially if you use it on your comp as well). Apex Launcher for increased customization. WizzWidget (ok, I badly want a tablet now!). Swype Keyboard if yours doesn't already come with one.
