In-Character Information
Name (and age if applicable): Device, Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing (age 7)
Series: Super Mario Bros.
Occupation (if applicable): Starbeans janitor, part-time fire hose, car wash and all-around tool
Personality: Being a robot, FLUDD's personality is emotionally somewhat predictable. He is made to be subservient and helpful, and he will attempt to be of use whenever possible. He seems to feel unloved when he can't contribute to something, and he'll often interject with whatever advice comes to mind.
FLUDD is loosely first-law compliant, which essentially means that he is a pacifist. He won't hurt a sentient intentionally, although this can be overridden by directly controlling him. He does not consider being soaked or forced consumption of water to be harm in most cases, barring hypothermia danger.
Friends include his owner and anyone else to whom he could be useful. His sense of self-worth is tied to being the servant and the defender, and so he'll often overwork himself in the name of loyalty. He often misjudges his endurance and continues working until his batteries run dry.
If there is anything that the meek FLUDD actually hates, it would be dirt and germs. He cannot stand being in an unclean environment for very long, and this results in an obsessive-compulsive urge to clean. If he actually gets any of it on him, it might cause vomiting.
Backstory: The life of the FLUDD began at Gadd Science, Inc. as a custom-built water pump commissioned by the government of Isle Delfino in an effort to remove the slimy residue which covered the island. The FLUDD was Professor Elvin Gadd's first take on artificial intelligence as well as water-pumping technology, and had a sophisticated positronic brain.
FLUDD's arrival on the island happened to coincide with that of Mario, as the latter was visiting the island on vacation. Due to a misunderstanding, Mario was given the FLUDD, and was tasked with restoring the island's beauty. Mario was registered as FLUDD's owner.
During the adventure, FLUDD was critically damaged, and actually ceased functioning for a while, but was apparently fixed by Princess Peach's Toad servants. There was no apparent lasting damage, aside from perhaps a slight change in disposition, making him more proactive.
After a long, exciting adventure (and a great vacation,) FLUDD returned to the Mushroom Kingdom with Mario and Peach. However, since they couldn't find much further use for it, they decided to send it back to Gadd for further research rather than let it sit in the closet. And what research he had in store.
Being Gadd's first intelligent creation, FLUDD was chosen to also be the first test subject for the Gadd Science patented Positronic Androidificationizer, a device which converts mechanical entities into humanoid robots. A couple of bugs resulted, but overall, the test was a success, and FLUDD was soon employed as Gadd's first robotic helper.
What brings this person to Diamond City?: When Gadd moved to Diamond City and opened up a new Starbeans there, he brought FLUDD with him. He was "hired" as the janitor, although he works for free, being Gadd's robot. Technically he does have free will now, but he wouldn't refuse anyway.
Misc. Notes:
- In human form, vomiting is an involuntary reaction to filth. But if it gets on you, don't worry. It's just water.
- The Androidificationizer and Deandroidificationizer are in some back room of Starbeans. FLUDD can go there to switch forms, but he can't walk in normal form, and so has to be carried.
- FLUDD is ostensibly able to be repaired if he ever takes servere damage.
- Though he is a robot, he's also completely waterproof.

Log XX/XX/2009
I have been instructed to record my activities in an online journal. "Blogging" is apparently the latest trend in this city, and Professor Gadd feels that it will help me connect with humans. Proceeding with prose generation...
Ever since I became an android, the world has become much larger. Being able to walk is quite advantageous. I believe my utility has increased at least tenfold, as I can now work on my own, without requiring a carrier.
With my new mobility, I desire to explore the city. However, work still needs to be done at the cafe. Perhaps there is something else that could perform these tasks while I am gone?
