Actually, it is, which is why I picked up the book in the first place. (Me, in the library: I recognize that stock image....) I'm not a huge fan of vampire literature, but I like fantasy in general. (Read the Twilight series, didn't really like it, though that was for other reasons that didn't include vampires/werewolves.) Nevertheless, I highly recommend it. I've been meaning to go back and re-read it one of these days...

Wow, that must mean it's really good if you're not into vampire literature, and you liked that book! I've been meaning to get it ever since it came out. I'm bumping that book up to the top of my 'books to get' list.

Why didn't you like the Twilight series? You just didn't like the way it was written?

Yeah, the more I troll around on GettyImages looking at stock photos, the more I find them on books. It's kind of bizarre. :)

My biggest problem with the Twilight series is Bella. She's just way too passive a heroine for me. It's basically always Edward (or whoever else) coming in and saving the day, and she does very, very little to help herself, which bothers me. I do like some of the minor characters, though. Alice's whole seeing the future deal interests me.
