Odendo and Yet Another Gaming-Related Post

I was recently talking to someone about what I did in my spare time, and the subject of gaming came up. I
mentioned boardgaming, and the first thing that's said is, "You mean, like Monopoly/Clue/Parcheesi/etc?"
Oh, if only they knew!

And because of that, I was inspired to make this post as a means to enlighten those

I haven't played... any of those! Except one. I played Settlers! I even own it!

But ya, some of those look pretty interesting. I'm a fan of well made non-standard board games. That descent one looks /really/ interesting. I wanna play it some time, now.

Played all of those, and I like Catan the least. It does remind me of really good peanut butter cookies though. Mm mmm mmm...

I've got a game called "Hero Quest" on top of my bedroom cupboard, but it hasn't -ever- been properly played and now it has some broken pieces. It seems similar to descent, in a way, only possibly older, and with highly stereotyped/archetypal characters (muscleclad loicloth barbarian!).

I've been meaning to play that myself, but it's out of print and way too expensive to buy at the moment. I've heard Descent is similar to it, except with a bit more depth.
