Good Lord, no!

And your link is malformed; you left out the "http://" part. What is that site? A kind of Tony Robbins find-the-winner-in-you kind of thing? Ew. I'm glad you figured out that that's not what I meant! Our Landmark Society is all about preserving and restoring local history.

oops. Trying to neaten it up a goofed.

Here's a good rundown on it, if a bit wordy:

http://skepdic.com/landmark.html

Basically, it came out of the est group awareness/confine-you-and-berate-you-until-you-have-a-breakdown-or-pee-yourself type seminars in the 1970s, but touts itself as classes and gets people involved in a pyramid scheme so that they either recruit friends and family to pay for more classes or cut them off because they're stifling. Very business-oriented cult. One of my best friends was recruited by his brother, and to this day is involved in Landmark, and we occasionally debate why his program is bullshit compared to actual counseling, because all it does is label behaviors with catchphrases instead of actually dealing with the problem.

He disagrees, but he's happy, and he doesn't mind so much that I call them the Pod People.
