Just wanted to let you know, after reading this review, I was *about* to email you and ask if I could please borrow it... but then I checked the library and discovered that they have this book (AND many others by this interesting sounding author). Color me excited!

Also, if you don't stop reviewing interesting books like this, I will NEVER get to the bottom of my to-be-read pile.
PS -- don't *ever* stop reviewing interesting books like this.

Ooh sweet! Converts! Wahoo!

So do any of the others sound interesting, or just Red Tree?

I haven't read any of her other books yet, but if I like Red Tree, I'm sure I'll seek out her other work. Are all of her books stand-alones, or is there a "first" book that I should read after Red Tree?

A lot of them share universes, but there's also two series: Silk (possibly my favorite, but very dark and as a warning, includes drug use) followed by Murder of Angels, and then her newer series, Threshold, Low Red Moon and Daughter of Hounds, which is possibly my other favorite.

I wouldn't necessarily have picked Kiernan as an author you'd be interested in, as her themes tend to be very dark, but I think you'd like Threshold and Daughter of Hounds the best. I don't necessarily think they need to be read in order, either. Time functions a little like silly putty throughout them all.
