Halloween Susan/Anya/Vimes

Oct 20, 2007 11:51

Sleep was one of Anya's favourite things. She hadn't needed to when she was a demon, and really, she hadn't wanted to. There had been rights that were to be wronged, and wishes that needed to be granted. It was a big planet, and there were always wronged women somewhere. Now she slept in as often as possible. She told herself it was making up for all those years but it was just an excuse to stay in bed longer.

The dream she was having was bizarre. Talk of eyeballs and squawking, a weight on her chest and a sound that was somewhere between scratching and laughter. Slowly her eyes opened, as she realised that whatever was going on, it wasn't a dream.

That was when she saw the little skeleton standing on her chest. A rat skeleton. With a scythe. And the talk of eyeballs? That was coming from a crow who was trying to pull the sequins off of... 'Hey!" She stood up, the rat-skeleton thing moving out of the way amazingly fast as she shooed the bird. "Get away from that!" She grabbed her sword from beside her bed, and waved it at the bird. "That's mine."

The bird was protesting (still, not unusual in Anya's head) and the little rat-thing laughed. Or she hoped it was laughing.

SNKH SNKH SNKH

Yes. She really hoped it was laughing.

Then something else became too apparent to her.

"Oh not again." Walking across the room, she prodded Susan's bed with her sword. "I don't know if you... people, whatever, think we're running a halfway house, but this is the second time this month someone other than Susan has been in her bed. Get up, get out. Go join that blonde girl somewhere else."

That the person in Susan's bed was a skeleton, that didn't bother her at all.
