Introducing: Mine, Yours & Ours

"No, totally, I can make it. Don't you worry. See you there." Selina told her friend Veronica. Selina was, without a doubt, the most popular girl in her school... not that it was a big one. She and her family had recently moved to this town, Fhairon, which was a considerable downgrade from her life in the big city. She went from being the Queen of a high school with a population of 1200 from going to a school with a total of four classrooms, one for each grade. Still, she made quite an impression on the people already there, who decided to follow her stylish ways immediately.

Oh, please, let her not be a bitch this time.
"Mum?"
"I'm in the bathroom, come on in."
"You are decent, aren't you?"

"Oh, Selina! What's up?" said Sandra. She was the only female attorney of Fhairon, who was a tiny, little town that had recently been founded. She thought it would be the perfect scenario for her and her family to move to after a big scandal back in the city, plus, being the only woman there and being a mother of two also made a big name for herself.
"Mum, could you please, please take me to the mall?"

"What? For what?"
"I'm meeting Kylie and Veronica there." Selina said, a little exasperated. What else? she thought.

"To the mall? Mmmmh... I'm afraid not."
"What? Why?!"

"I don't have time, Selina, and don't start please. I have to be in court in ten minutes."

"Well, thanks a lot... for nothing."

"Ugh, I just can't stand her!"

"Selina, what's up? What happened?" Peter asked his daughter. Peter had met Sandra in college, before she decided to go to law school and he to culinary school. They made quite the couple, everyone thought. Peter had to agree, at times, since he knows if they had met each other ten years later than they did, she would not have look twice at him. Still, he doesn't mind his wife being the bread winner, not with the beautiful family they built. They had a lot of commodities, two stunning daughters, and this new and enormous house that was much cheaper in this small town than it would've been back in the city. But lately, things have not been going so well with his wife, not since they moved to Fhairon. He hopes it's just a temporary thing.

"It's just my mum... same old, same old. It's getting really hard to deal with her."

"Hey, you couldn't take me to the mall, could you, Dad?"
"I'm afraid not, cutie pie. I'm making your sister's favorite, and after this I have to make some deliveries."

"But, do you want some Nutella spread?"

"Oh, yeah, carbs, I love those. Ugh, I just hate everyone in this house! Thanks for nothing!"

"What nonsense was she talking about this time? It's like it's gonna kill her not go out one afternoon."

"Come on, Sandra, let her be. It's not her fault she's popular like her dad. Viviann! Come down, lunch's ready!"

"Yum, dad, thanks a bunch! Is it okay if I just take one and take it up to my room? I wanna catch up on my book." Viviann said to her dad. Viviann was the only one in her family that was truly, truly happy that they had left the big city. It was not a fun experience, growing up in her sister's shadow. It was not Selina's fault, she knew, that she was way more sociable and truly cared about her looks, two things that Viviann sorely lacked. Still, no boy had ever wanted her for anything more than ask for her homework or the freaking time of day, whereas they wanted her sister for so much more.
But here, in Fhairon, not everyone knew Selina. Sure, she'd made a lot of friends already, but they didn't worship her, like in their old school. It was Viviann's chance of a fresh start, one where, hopefully, she'd meet a boy.
"No problem at all."

"You mark my words, people, I will get a way out of this house and I'm never looking back. JUST WAIT AND SEE." Viviann heard her sister complain in her room, and she could barely contain her laughter.

"Oh well, what you gonna do?" said Viviann quietly, while shrugging.

"Devin? I'm done, let's go now!"

"Devin?" Gabrielle said. Where the hell has he gotten to, she thought.

"Devin, open the door!"

"Alright, I'm coming in. Please be decent, I don't want to repeat that situation again."

"Devin?" Gabrielle wondered where her eldest child had gotten himself into. Being a single mum wasn't easy, but she was grateful they were living comfortably. Her dad had been one of the founders of Fhairon, and had he not, she wouldn't have this big house and contacts in the city, where she made most of her deals. She was a fashion designer, so she was busy enough all day long to miss the man that had left her with a small boy and a big pregnant belly to go explore the world, with an eighteen year-old, years ago.

"Hillary?" Seeing her little girl made Gabrielle completely happy, despite the fact that she looked like a miniature, female version of her dad. She was beautiful, smart, funny, and witty as hell, which, even though it had been proved to be annoying at times, would surely take her far in life.

"Hey mum."
"Do you have any idea of where your brother's at?"

"We're supposed to be leaving in five minutes."
"Why is he going with you?"
"He's grounded, and if I leave him alone in the house, he'll sneak out."

"Ooooh, in that case, I suppose he shouldn't have taken the truck and going to what sounded like a very unsafe party."
"WHAT?!"

"Hillary, are you serious?"

"Actually, no, mum. I'm just trolling you. I have no idea of where he is."

"Yeah, well, but knowing him, you're most likely right."

"Oh mum, I swore if I'd seen him I'd tell you."
"I know."

"Good, I'll keep you posted then."

"Look at that, it's too late. Well, I'll just have to go. I'll grab a soda and leave. Be safe okay?"

"Devin?! What the hell?"

"Hey, I made you and Hillary some lunch, if you'd like."
"I can see that."

"But what the hell were you thinking?!"

"We had to leave like fifteen minutes ago!"

"Mum, you're their boss. They can't be mad at you if you're late, in fact, it's expected of you. So relax, have some lunch." Gabrielle and her son Devin had been having problems. Nothing unusual, considering his age, but the fact that he never had a 'male' figure to look up to was starting to affect him, or so Gabrielle's aquaintances told her, but she knew better. No one ever needed a 'male' or 'female' figure, just someone that loves them and looks after them. No, she knew Devin's problem were his laziness, horniness and moodiness, which, no matter how much she'd like them not to, were completely normal at his age.

"Well, that is true. And I can't miss this opportunity, it's like the second coming of Jesus." Gabrielle told her son, actually softened by the fact that he made some lunch.

"This does earn me some points, right?" Devin said between a half-smile half-bite.
"You wish. Hillary, come to the kitchen, your brother made lunch!"

"Oh mother, have I gone insane? Or have you? You couldn't have possibly be right."

"Oh it is true! Then, be cautious, I'm sure they're poisoned."

"Why don't you shut your fucking ugly face?"
"Devin! Want another month without going out?"

"Mum? Aren't you a little bit late? Why so calm?"

"Well, I think I can afford missing this appointment." Gabrielle said, thinking how lucky she was.
