Starter Wife, Weather Channel, more "use what you have", and getting ready for vacation.

Some random mental lint that's accumulated over the past couple of days:

I made it through most of the two-hour premier of The Starter Wife last night in hopes of seeing something entertaining. I don't recommend it, although Joan Davis is wonderfully over the top and I find it hilarious that Pond's is a major underwriter. (Like Hollywood plastic ( Read more... )

TV, callsign KTVT.

You did tell me about WBAP! I listen to them sometimes in the morning, but rarely in the afternoon because that's when they run Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. If I listen to too much of those two, I loose bad words at the radio.

I watched the Starter Wife, too, and found it difficult to get through. I didn't like the rude young love interest for her, I found the storyline with Cricket's husband "accidentally" cheating obnoxious, and the storyline with her gay friend just wasn't working.

I guess I'll watch another episode, but if that sucks, too, I might give it up.

Have a great trip!

Being presented as a miniseries basically kills any chance I'll watch it as it's first aired. The Starter Wife is based on a chick-lit novel of the same name and I can't imagine reading one of those in once-weekly hourly chunks. Even my slow reads get "indulged" whenever I feel like it, whether that's twice a month of every day.

Apparently I picked a good week to be out of town, since the allergy outlook for this week looks unpleasant -- 40% chance of rain this evening and tomorrow morning, winds picking up throughout the week and muggy.

If we wind up with more than an hour to kill in the airport tomorrow, I'll drop the $10 for a T-Mobile HotSpot day pass and split screen time with the kiddo. It'll be less traumatic for everyone than the time I let her listen to a CD during a late evening connection and she started singing along.

I'll be in Denver until the 16th; feel free to call my cell or my parents' house (number that ends in 4391) while I'm there.

I have a long time friend who's been on TWC for several years now. As we flipped channels, we'd cross TWC and call out "Hi Warren."
