We get a seemingly endless variety of mail addressed to names that are not ours. Usually they're 'close', like a random first name with either my or Vogon's last name, or are simply mis-sent to someone who has the same street and apartment number as ours on a different street ( Read more... )

my dad gets these all the time, mainly from emergency room bills.

I take it he has a fairly common first/last name combination?

The last misdirected outstanding ER bill we got was for a [vogonfirstname] Lamont [vogonlastname]. I fought the urge to call the billing department because Lamont does not sound like the middle name of a scrawny white guy.

it is always a hispanic last name, many combinations. The address has had our name (German) for about 120 years, and you are talking about a town of about 5000 people.
