Ah, so they killed the gunman. Last I saw of it there were still two hostages and they hadn't gone in yet.

Mom texted me around noon to watch the news when their school resource officer responded to Platte Canyon right before lunch. I didn't call her until I heard the brief story on the national news.

Sometimes I think it's something in the water. Honestly, I have no idea.

When I was working on a Wikipedia article for a DFW-area high school, I stumbled across a site that had a fairly exhaustive database of school shootings and I spent a few hours reading through them.

I held onto anger about the investigation of the Columbine shootings for a long time. Himself (my ex-husband) was under police surveillance for a few weeks afterward because his school flagged him as a dangerous anti-social gamer type and we got dogged by the police several times that summer.
