What is it about slash fiction that attracts me? Seriously.

Because, whilst I may be occasionally attracted to certain types of female - Zoe from Firefly and Willow from BtVS spring to mind - and might not be averse to experimentation if I didn’t have mr oddegg, I am, really, pretty heterosexual. Straight with a bit of a warp you might say.

You should write that story, maybe you don't have to go as psycho as the image in your brain is if you don't want others seeing it, but a mad (in the crazy sense) Welling having angry sex with Rosenbaum? Mmmm.

I think I may be able to hold him back from doing the full "Here's Johnny!!" psycho bit but he's definitely disturbed. Mike doesn't seem to be objecting that much though, so it's all good.

The guy/guy being equal to the girl/girl makes sense to me. As for the pairings with an edge well that's what makes them fun ya know? It's all fantasy and fantasy with a bit of bite is more enjoyable. The difference between Georgette Heyer and Jaid Black if you will.

*eyes Oddegg's brain* Yes, you should write that fic - it could turn out to be really good. The premise certainly points in that direction. Plus ‘I like eating human eyeballs’ side of that line. is just cracking me up.

I'm not really complaining. Slash has after all brought me many happy hours of fun (and we will skate modestly over what that fun consisted of), but I sometimes feel I should extend my range slightly. Maybe read some het or femme-slash *shrugs* I'll get round to it.
And yeah - I do love it when someone takes a pairing that normally would make you cringe or curl up moaning 'my brain, my brain' and not only makes it work but makes it hot!!

The fic is getting written. I am trying to keep Tom from eating eyeballs, but he's not been taking his meds recently so...

You know I've been reading slash for more than 15 years and I still haven't figured out why I love slash so much, now and again I'll read het from a favourite author but I generally keep clear of it.

I did used to read more het - started out reading Hermione/Snape actually, but I haven't looked for it recently. I might have a trawl for some after xmas just to prove I haven't been completely corrupted by the slash.
(HAHAHAHA - couldn't keep a straight face at that. I'm writing over half a dozen fics at the moment and they're all slash!! Ah well, no hope for me)

I dunno, hon, but it does exactly the same thing to me! Guy + girl = big so what. Guy + guy = hot as all hell. Provided I fancy at least one of the pair, that is.

There is some het I like, but even that is very specific pairings and situations, whereas slash I'll try pretty much anything and anyone once. I don't even have to fancy either of them! I actually read an NSync slash recently and quite liked it, and I wouldnt have touched any of them even with a bag on their head.
