I really liked this story. John's tortured soul really spoke to me and it made him very real and vulnerable.

And I found this to be such a powerful paragraph:

John didn't give a damn about right and wrong, he just wanted to achieve the simple act of completion. Be freed from the weight of Mary's death. Be blinded to the misery of his eldest son's existence. Deny his youngest son's rejection. Sate his own desire for the demon's death, the destruction of the thing that had condemned him to this.

Excellent job at tackling such a complex and complicated relationship - and keeping it so.

Thank you so much for your feedback, I really appreciate it.

it made him very real and vulnerable.

I love his vulnerable side, it's a shame he works so hard to keep it from his boys.

Excellent job at tackling such a complex and complicated relationship - and keeping it so.

One of the things I love about the show is just how complicated the relationships between the Winchester boys can be. It allows for a lot of 'wiggle room' in the fanfic.

well done! this was both unsettlingly hot and beautifully written. i love the cadences of your prose -- it's really meant to be read out loud and lends an elegance to even your dive bars and blowjobs.

That so hits the sweet spot. I appreciate your kind words.

You don't know how how happy this made me. Seriously!

I went through a period when I was adding a 'best when read aloud' note on my stories. It didn't last long however as I came to suspect it was discouraging people from reading my work. I still think it's true though and I love that you get it.

*happy dance*

Thank you.

*g* it's totally true! some of your lines are positively chewy, and i mean that in the best way. it kinda reminds me of beat poetry, actually -- i used to live in this hippie house and we would do, like, dramatic readings of Howl and stuff. it gave me an appreciation for consonants and dissonants and such, and i think it's important to pay attention to.

I'm actually in a non-fandom poetry writing group and while the experience is brilliant my non-fandom poetry sucks rats through a straw. Or at least that's how it feels at the moment. Hopefully my fanfic will reap the rewards of the experience.
