I thought nothing good could come from this episode; and then I read your story. What a beautiful and thoughtful follow-up.
Ros is a character that I find very challenging to write right. I admire your ability to capture her voice and thoughts in a way very true to the character.
I confess I'm not hugely fond of Ros (and was very fond of Jo), but you've done a great job of making her seem more sympathetic than perhaps the show always does. And god bless Harry for being there...
We can't know each other any more... not like Ros. lol. Just kidding. I admit, she's a hard character to like, but I've loved her from 5.01. THank you!
Ah, but I didn't actually say I didn't like Ros, just that I'm not very fond of her. She's a complex character - and I admire the writers for creating her that way - but she's not easy for me to be fond of...
I'm only just now catching up on some of my fic reading, but I *must* leave a comment on this one, even if belated. This is so heartbreaking, but so true to the character! Fabulous.
It's been a while since I've really read any Spooks fanfiction. I sort of fell out with the characters over the last couple of series. I actually quite liked this episode, though it most definately had its flaws.
This, for me, is what the end should have been like. Your characterisation of Ros is impressive, and Harry's stoic comfort is lovely. Wonderfully done, thank you for sharing it.

I think Ros is a 'like or dislike' character. You can't 'kind of' like her; you're one of the other.

But seriously, I was crying in this episode. When Ros fell to her knees. *tears up*

I was the opposite. I only started with Spooks when Hermione Norris joined. Call me fickle but I'll follow that woman anywhere.
Glad you liked it!
