I'm starting to think Arthur will be the last to know about Merlin's magic. I just hope he doesn't take it too badly. >.> However, I've noticed that in this season there seems to be more of a GOOD reason why Merlin's keeping his magic a secret, whereas during last season it was like, WHY, MERLIN. WHY. But that's probably just me. xD
Something that is starting to bother me is Arthur‘s violence against Merlin. The teasing and harmless pranks are great, but I felt that the piece of metal lobbed at Merlin‘s head was totally unnecessary. I just felt it was no longer playful and fun, but painful and nasty instead.
I thought it was a bit nasty but then I thought, boys. *eyeroll* But who knows? I'm sure Arthur cares for Merlin a lot and had he knocked him out then with that piece of metal, I'm sure he would have been all over him in an instant (and calling everyone to help because we all know Arthur is USELESS. XD)
(why don‘t they try pairing Morgana with a fiercely loyal knight? Now THAT would be interesting…)I AGREE but somehow all I can

To be honest, I'm kind of expecting Arthur to find out this season, or at least deeply suspect that something is up with Merlin. There have been quite a few little situations in which Arthur looks as though he is missing something and is trying to figure out what really happened (like after that spear came out of nowhere in the first episode), so I think it‘s going somewhere. If Arthur were the last to find out, they‘d probably also be leaving out some interesting possibilites in terms of plot - but then, it wouldn‘t be the first time they did something like that.
You‘re kind of making me want to go looking for stories in which Arthur knocks Merlin out and is full of remorse. I‘m sure there are a few out there….
True. xD I do hope Arthur finds out sooner than later anyhow, and you're right in that there'll be some very interesting plot possibilities. I just hope they'll delve into that, as opposed to Arthur being all MEH about Merlin's magic. I think it'd be nice to see some sort of falling out between them, especially since they've been so tight so far. :D
I'm sure there are, but I don't know any. (I don't follow Merlin fics very much.) But if you find some...do tell! :D
