Don't worry about NaNo - I've said it before, and I'll say it again, thats a crazy challenge! Just attempting it is something to be proud of!

Hopefully during the 2011 season, even if people don't finish their Halloween stories, you can post what you have the week afterwards, just so we can all oooh and aaaah over them! I would have loved to read them all! I tried really hard to be organized too, but it was difficult. Now this year, 'cause I've had a bit of experience, it'll be easier.

Since OWC I finished a couple of writing challenges. It's been great, I love writing.

I didn't finish the NaNo though, things got really busy here.

If you love writing, this is the place to be every October! Hee hee - So glad that you're doing well! Don't worry about NaNo - it's really difficult! That last 2000, I was dying!

Heh, I plan to be back here in October :D

That NaNo...I just could not focus enough. I got farther last year, but then I got really sick for the last two weeks >.

Awww! That sucks when nature runs interference! I hate being sick - luckily, this year has been relatively virus free.

I couldn't finish NaNo the first couple of years I tried it too, so I'm extra proud of the years that I have been able to triumph. Since it was a decade year (2010, as opposed to 2013, for example), I got myself a winner's t-shirt too. Lol. I want to be able to whip it out in 90 years to show my grandchildren. hee hee

Okay, you've made some valid points - and as a mod I appreciate them. We did handle some of the problems badly, however, you also made a valid point when you mentioned that you didn't think we'd done this before. Both myself and my co-mod are newbies to the whole moderation scene - we've been in communities before, and we've been in fandom for a long time, but have never had our own community. Therefore we were learning, and we will implement new things in Oct. 2011 ( ... )

I did not attempt NaNo, but continued writing the stories that I was posting chapters of on here for the OWC. I am thankful I did the whole thing because I got to read some really good stories from people on here and got to have valuable input on my stories from people reading them. It helped to further spark my creativity and keep me going in my writing to where I have more readership on these stories than I have ever had and I've had my first full story posted and finished since August of 2009. So it's really nice to be working at a faster pace and feel like I have gained more practice and knowledge through this challenge ( ... )
