Well said, Shain, every word. You always take the words out of my mouth and make them more eloquent. But why are people stupid? Why?? There are so many things wrong with the idea that being is asexual is in any way, shape or form the same as being straight.

I've been thinking of joining that community, but now I'm really glad I didn't. The level of discourse seems very low, dismissive, and rude, and the majority of members seem like big fuckers.

And it only got better on an offshoot thread (though it might have gone to another community)... people were literally saying that asexuals should be raped in order to teach them a lesson. How they can say simultaneously that asexuals have a completely unwarranted persecution complex because they're not marginalized at all and that a whole group of people deserve to be violated just on the basis of their lack of sexual interest makes me wonder how their heads don't explode from the pure illogical fuckery of it all.
