I live with cats...

I've lived with cats all my life, we had cats the day I was born, and I don't think I've ever been at most a few months without a cat in my life.

They've all been wonderful, intelligent, intriguing and unique personalities. But one thing I can say beyond a doubt they all had in common, was some weird ass food fetish.

We've got weird ones too. A kitten of one of our strays stole a fresh tomato that was ripening on a ledge at his new home.

One of our cats, Buster (who inspired my icon) likes cottage cheese, canned peaches, popsicles, ice cream (vanilla, especially if it has been covered in Kahlua), baked beans, coffee (dips his paw in), and plain Timbits. Of course, being a cat, he also likes any meat in existence. One time we were watching TV and he strode into the room with a stripped chicken carcass between his legs, like a lion carrying a gazelle.

We had a Maine coon who loved corn on the cob. Didn't make any difference if it was raw or cooked - the cat would even climb a corn stalk to rip down an ear to munch on.

Others loved tomato sauce, cheese (all kinds) and pasta (with all the fixings).

:-)

Cats are just funny. That little kitty in the video was determined to keep his broccoli.

I'd have a cat now if my place allowed it...

Well, I think it's somewhat "normal" for cats. We've got one, Tia, who appears into the kitchen as soon as she hears me open a bag of steak bits and demands her share. Another likes lasagna and yet another goes after corn. of course, several of them are very determined in going after the remainders from fried chicken dinners.

my Loki loved the vinaigrette dressing on "market" or "garden" salads from the deli - he wasn't interested in the vegetables, but he'd lick the containers clean when the salad was done. he also loved spaghetti sauce, although i was careful to only let him have a few licks, because i was never sure whether tomatoes were bad for cats or not. he was intrigued by the smell of bread, beer, or whiskey - anything with a yeasty aroma - and every once in a while he'd decide he wanted to eat some bread that he'd found unsecured. and he'd always lick the butter off the sides of the butter dish when he thought no one saw him on the kitchen table ;-)
