The New and Improved Request Thread
Before requesting, you should read and be familiar with both this and this post. The second post covers things that annoy me personally.. if your request falls under any of them, you can go ahead and make it anyway as we'll probably do it, but you might want to take it elsewhere unless you really love our style! Most importantly, READ THIS POST before requesting. Perhaps it will fully illustrate my complete and utter hatred for unneeded animation and flashing words. Asking for "flashing text" diminishes your chances of getting a request filled hundredfold. Got it?

Keep in mind that we are all busy people with very full schedules. We have absolutely no obligation to offer customization of our bases; we're only doing this because we enjoy making icons. However, because we are busy, your request may not be filled immediately. We are doing you a favour, so be polite! Unwarranted rudeness is cause for immediate dismissal of a request.
Things we will NOT do under any circumstances:
- Requests made in chatspeak, requests for icons with chatspeak text, pretty much ANYthing to do with chatspeak. We don't like it. Using chatspeak is an invitation for rejection! If you can't type in common english, then don't request. It's as simple as that.
-Redoing another icon maker's work. If they wanted their icons changed, I'm sure you could ask them to do it themselves. We'd be upset if you or somebody else changed an icon (not a base, there's a difference) of ours. It's totally disrespectful and rude to change someone's work without permission, and we will not be doing it. If you have to ask someone else besides the original maker to change it, that suggests to us that it is something they don't want to do... and we won't have anything to do with that.
-Editing existing animations in any way. This may be possible, but it's stupidly difficult and not worth our time.
-Flashing text, hearts, stars, swirlies, tiny, unreadable text... Anything that we judge too popular and/or too ugly. In case you hadn't noticed, this is not the type of icon that we make. If you want something of this sort, then for god's sake, go to a community that actually fits that style!
-Actors or musicians that we do not like. I'm sorry, but we are NOT going to expend the time and effort into creating icons that revolve around themes that don't appeal to us. It's no fun for the designers, and the finished product is not likely to be very good.
-Political icons! We have members from all different political backgrounds, and we do not want to estrange any of them. Make your political requests elsewhere. Religious icons fit under this category to an extent, though we do reserve the right to make exceptions.
-Icons with tons of animation. Because of the size limits, icons with five different brightly coloured pictures will look like crap. And we don't like making crap icons. If a quote is too long, we're willing to seperate it into two frames and an animated icon. We MIGHT have one picture fade to another. Anything involving more than three frames, tops, isn't going to get more than conspiratorial whispers by the designers to drop you into a vat of boiling oil.
A Note on the Ladder of Vaguaries: We WILL do specific requests, but please, don't abuse this. We'll only do one or two specific requests per person every few weeks, unless we've offered otherwise. Lots of vague requests, however, are fine. However, don't be TOO VAGUE, and don't expect these requests to be done very quickly! Examples of the ladder of vagueness are:
Specific: I'd like ladybase16 with the quote 'I feel pretty', have that
fade, then 'Oh so pretty', and have it repeat. Preferably a bold font on
bold 'pretty's, with a subtle border brush, please.
Vague: I saw all those eye bases you had, and was wondering if you could
make some more of them? Blue or green eyes if possible? Thanks!!
Too vague: I'd like some sea icons.
So you want to make a request...
I group requests into several categories. First is customization of one of our own bases. This is the kind that is most likely to get done, but also . Second is editing and customizing an existing picture provided by you. Third is base requests. We appreciate these, but they will likely not be done soon. I am preparing a small website with a list of the base requests we've had, just so that all of the designers will have access to the ideas when they need inspiration. Feel free to give us as many of these as you like, but keep in mind that they will be done at our leisure! Fourth is requests for icons with specific sayings on them, or icons with a specific theme. These are different from the first category in that you do not have a base picked out, or perhaps you'd like to see some icons with lyrics from a specific band, or you'd like to see a set of icons with a travel theme. You should provide the sayings or lyrics yourself if you expect this sort of request to be done, unless it's a band you're talking about and one of us is familiar with it. This is probably the most difficult request to do, and will probably take a long time and be taken on sparingly. I suppose there is probably a fifth category, but I'm not sure how I'd define it, so I'll just call it "other."
Read all of that? Understand it? Good! You may now make a request! I have created the following forms for requests. If you are making a specific icon request, you MUST use the form and fill out all fields. If you cannot do this, then you shouldn't be here. The other sorts of requests don't need to follow the forms, they are just there for guidelines. Here are the forms. Simply copy/paste the code into your comment and fill in the information:
Specific icon request. If you want one icon with a quote, this is the form you want to use!

Text, lyric, quote, words:
Font preference: Pixel, script, placement.. all that info goes here.

You must comment when you pick up a base, either on the comment where you made the request, or in a new comment if your base has been added to the list of orphans. It is rude not to comment!!
