Ireland bases

While reading my flist this morning, I was touched by a friend's longing for Ireland. I used this as an excuse to put my work aside, put an Altan CD in the player, and make a set of Ireland bases. And, amazingly enough, instead of just saving them to my drafts folder, I've even uploaded and am posting them. :)

Oh, so amazing...

I know I want one, but I'm not sure which ones yet.

If I talk longingly of Scotland and the Isle of Skye... (Sorry, I'm leaving here in about four months and I watched Highlander last night and got all weepy because I'm going to *leave*....)

well, yeah. the only reason i was touched so by her longing is because i experience that same longing for scotland. "my" scotland is the borders region, though. :)

:) I can understand that. I'm in Edinburgh right now as an expat. I love the borders, though... I've been going to the Border Abbeys when I have time and money, and they're so haunting and beautiful... especially Lindisfarne, of course.

ah, edinburgh; i didn't get nearly enough time there - only one day - but i did hit most of the border abbeys, though i missed lindisfarne because the tides weren't with us the one day we had free to visit ... sigh. we ended up going to traquair house instead, and it was wonderful. :)
