OIcontest #6: Theme

Mar 12, 2006 21:41

The new challenge, for OIcontest #6, is Foreground/Background.

Each entry must feature some cut-out (not rectangular unless the object/person itself is rectangular) focal point image with an abstract/nonrepresentational/brushed image behind it.

As such:

Tutorial, for Photoshop 7.

Submit them to this post, giving me both the image (the < img src = "" > tag) and the URL (http://www.____.__/_____.___). You may enter up to 2 icons.

Cartoon images, comics, fine art, photographs, anime screencaps, movie stills: it's all fair game for the foreground. The background can be recognizable (stars, hearts, floral brushes, text) but may not be a photograph or recognizable piece of "art".

This is another of the jcontest-style viewers-pick-the-winners contests. Everyone will vote on the winners via poll, with such categories as Best Show of Emotion, Most Creative, and Best Use of Text. There will be two color categories, one for subtle coloring and one for bright, effective coloring. Also, there will be a special category for non-photograph icons (anime, comic art, "fine" art, etc...).
