Anniversaries are for remembering...

I am so out of practice... not that I've ever really been in practice, but I've always enjoyed trying to draw - whether the end product worked out or not. ><" It's sad that I am endlessly hopeless when it comes to perspective... shading... and those "how to draw" books.

However, I've been trying again since winter break, and I'm still working on ( Read more... )

Woahh, I saw this piece when it was incomplete and it looks AMAZING now. It looked great then too, but you were going crazy over some tiny drop/blot/something that your sister(?) dropped on it. Something like that. ><;;; I really like it (though something about the way you made her eyes make me terrified to look at them ^^;; ).

HA! Proof of your bias-ness. Due to my sister's official claim to the only printer in the house - this was a scan done of the piece BEFORE I showed it to you. :D (Or... you may claim distance and memory.)

But HAH! (Yes, I am very mature.)

Also, I am working on those eyes. ><" I know exactly what you mean... there's something wrong with the shading in them that I've been trying to work on, but... *sigh*. You know - me and my attempts. ><"""""""""

Lol. The eyes are demonic-looking (I like them that way, but I know that you were not going for that. XD )

I CLAIM DISTANCE AND MEMORY. :p

...are you sure you did nothing to it? really?

Yes, yes. I should not have offered you that. XD

And yes, :3 it may be the lighting on the scan that makes it a bit more tolerable - my sister has a model of a printer just before mine, but the scanner is... odd. I also have to work on the mouth, and the hair... and the hand... and possibly that pomegranate stain still bothers me so much - at least with the lychee juice my sister was drinking today - it would have been clear.

(I still claim that you are biased. Though then again, I am still just really glad that my family no longer look at my attempts at portraiture and laugh about a monkey or other.)

I love the composition here -- the hands, the hilltop, and of course Laura.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I think fan art is a wonderful artistic expression and I'm thrilled you posted this.

I cannot wait to see the finished product.

Thank you! *HUGS* I am still trying to work on it, but I am torn between being afraid of messing it up even more and wanting to get it right at least to the way I want to picture it in my mind's eye.

*sigh*

I still need to catch up with your LJ updates! *am so excited to* I caught some glimpses in my scans, but I haven't had the chance yet to really just stop and stare [in awe]. :D

I hope you are doing well though! ♥
