suits

Was just saying to buffyann the other day that, if only it had some balls, Suits could be an amazing cautionary tale of how Mike Ross slowly loses his soul over the course of 5 years, a la Breaking Bad. Sometimes it sucks that the show you're watching is not quite the show it should be. Especially one with an evil law firm ruled by a powerful WoC with the ( Read more... )

Ughhh I know, Suits is so damn frustrating. So many interesting tacks to take other than "OMG THE SEKRIT!!!" yet they can't move away from that. At this point I mainly watch for Jessica because she is perfection (and a decent reference point for what colors might look good on me).

I just watched the ep where he can go into investment banking (where one needs no qualifications, haha!) and chose not to do it because w00bies about I Am A Lawyer Or I Am Nothing, ugh. Irrational decisions are irrational. Jessica is awesome though. And yes, I can see your palettes matching up. :D

That episode is still sitting on my DVR because I know that he is going to turn the job down for some bullshit reason and I know I am going to be immensely frustrated by that. It's the perfect out! I am way too invested in the poor career choices of fictional characters.

I haven't watched much of the show, but I've been reading Suits fic lately, and I keep wanting Mike to decide to go work for the UN or something, once he finds his lawyerly feet. Because, yes.

Yes the last episode was disappointing :P
I'm a bit tired of the "I am my work or else I don't exist" (is there people like that?). Mike would rather commit another crime and risk jail than have another (yet still plenty successful) career. what ? I guess we all know this is where it was going but still very lame... the decision he made could have worked it they weigh on it more, but a speech from another lawyer and bam, let's commit more fraud ? :P
Also hated how they made donna make it all about harvey in her speech, that didn't feel like her.

Yes, Donna's OOCness bothered me a lot too. And I don't get why it would be such a big emotional deal for Harvey anyway? It's not like Mike is going to stop being his friend. And Harvey thought he should go for it and Rachel thought he should go for it and, ugh.

Well I guess they meant it as harvey wouldn't find someone as good for him as mike and that he went to great length to keep that. But like you said, they're friends, of course he'd be sad and disappointed, but he would totally understand why mike would choose a legit life... For a minute, I thought they'd find a way for mike to take the job and still work on the show but no.
Somehow it turned into a guild trip (after all harvey did for you!) + loyalty thing (you owe so much to harvey, he & the firm have made you what you want) + my work is my life. Disappointing

Hmmm, that would be interesting. I stopped watching a while ago and even stopped keep up with the plot to read fic. :(
