Just popping up to say I adore Morricone too. It's one of those few reasons that make me proud to live in this country.
I think this OST and Once Upon a Time in America's one are not of this world. I'm hoping to see him in concert some day, directing an orchestra...there are some live recordings that are seriously amazing.
That game was the best advertisement for football you could wish for, a real recruiter game. Even the british commentators stopped discussing the pros and cons of weather in South Africa, England and Scotland (I kid you not) and got excited about the game and all the goals and chances on both sides.
I, too, was sorry not to see Poldi, Lahm and Klose, but on the other hand I found it reassuring that this was not particularly noticeable, everybody seemed to slide right into place.
I'm a bit miffed that there are 3 European countries at the top, it would have been nicer if it was bit more, international, you know. I really would have loved to see Ghana get a bit further, that would have meant so much for all the sub-saharan African Nations.
Karate KidOne scene from the original is burned in my brain, the "fancy dress" he chooses to go to the school ball, I could so relate to that as a teenager. Plus, it was cute and funny

Well, it's a tournament and rightfully the top teams, whoever they are or where they're from, should be the ones playing. It's not like the rest of the world doesn't get represented in the world cup generally - just not so much this time round.
I really would have loved to see Ghana get a bit further, that would have meant so much for all the sub-saharan African Nations. That's true, mostly because of the way they were knocked out. I did have fun this morning booing along with the crowd every time Suarez touched the ball. :D
I start thinking about River Phoenix, Cory Haim and Brad Renfro and feel like I'm exploiting them somehow. I don't get that because I doubt one single viewer's influence one way or another would have any bearing on whether child stars make movies and/or which ones they choose to make.
IKR? I totally burst out crying when we got to that scene. Surprised my own self.

A live performance would be amazing! Do you think that's likely? Does he still do it?

He performed in Venice too...it must have been AMAZING.
He's over 80, I think, I'm not sure if he would still be willing to do more, but I can hope!

From one of my favorite movies, even because of the OST. Have you seen it?
I watched a Radiohead's concert in this same Arena. :D

I've got Once Upon A Time In The West on DVD. It's big and epic in that gritty, old school way that you just can't reproduce with effects.
