Meme, cos the cool kids are doing it. :P
What three professional music videos have had the biggest influence on you as a vidder?
This is hard for me to answer because there are some pro vids that I love, but I wouldn't necessarily say they influenced me as a vidder. But maybe subconsciously they did, I dunno. You can be the judge of that.
I'll preface this by saying I'm gonna cheat and not post the two that
bradcpu put into my vidder profile, just because they're out there already. ;)

Just look at the beautiful light! Some people have commented that my most dramatic vids tend to build up to a big crashing climax, and then they focus on that final climactic image and slowly fade out. This video might have had something to do with that. Plus, QAFUK!Vince!

On-beat speed changes, playing with colouring and textures, and general crazy shit provides inspiration on a number of levels. I just love how unapologetically insane the whole thing is, and yet it so obviously hinges together on some sort of internal logic that you can't quite put your finger on. I especially love the power of the prolonged spinny shot starting from 2:50. I think in a lot of my vids you can see that notion of the continued, circular motion.

It was hard to pick just the one Manson video, they're nearly always excellent. Here, I love the way the camera movement echoes the beats, and how the visuals alternate between shaky movement/interesting angles and very steady, slow-mo type shots which really give you a moment of pretty breathing room. I think the slow-mo emotional crowd shots are really effective, and might have used something like that in my Merlin vid Red. ;)
