The world was on fire and no one could save me but you
It's strange what desire will make foolish people do
I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you
And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you
No, I don't want to fall in love (this world is only gonna break your heart)
With you
What a wicked game to play, to make me feel this way
What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you
What a wicked thing to say, you never felt this way
What a wicked thing to do, to make me dream of you
No, I don't want to fall in love (this world is only gonna break your heart)
With you
Nobody loves no one.
I recently realised that I'm really quite bothered by depictions of unfaithfulness in popular media, especially when extramarital affairs are concerned. My being a conservative fogey aside, I realised that was primarily why I disliked the Lee/Kara ship. I've seen plenty of Lee/Kara vids; I haven't seen a Dee vid that dealt with her side of the story. (Although of course just because I haven't seen one doesn't mean one doesn't exist.) It pissed me off, ergo vid.
It's not to say Dee is blameless. I know there are deleted scenes which suggested she fully comprehended what she was getting into, and if that's what the Lee/Kara shippers need for their peace of mind, then so be it. My sympathies remain firmly with Dee. I did have some problems with how she ended things with Billy, although if I recall correctly, they'd pretty much ended it before she started dating Lee in earnest. At any rate, there's a big difference between doing that and having the nerve to ask your wife to go risk her life to save your mistress.
In non-relationship aspects, the thing I loved most about Dee's exit in 4x11 was the ominous sense of something about to happen, and so tried to recreate this here. Whether or not the conclusion is shown is sort of beside the point, I feel. We know what's coming. It's as good an ending as any.
