I've been rewatching pretty much all the vids saved to my hard drive in order to get excited about vids and vidding again. What I realised - a handful of vids are so quintessentially it. The vid so exactly encompasses what I perceive the show/subject to be, I can't imagine another vid in this fandom ever surpassing this one. It makes me giddy. So ( Read more... )

I posted an insta-rec when it first premiered, but I wasn't likely to have been coherent about it. :D I loved the version of the song she chose. Just an astounding piece of work.

You know I've been relistening to Come On Angel a lot and it totally *gets* me in how much Sam is to Dean along with his father and their whole world. That vid and song will always be them to me as well.

You were the last high and IEFYT are definitely great examples of vids that show what the subject's all about. I never thought I'd see a HP vid that really captured it but lim's vid blew me completely away.

There are countless SPN vids out there, of course, but this one for some reason is just it. There is so much unsaid.

I think it's because its primary referent is the books rather than the movies. It assumes that the viewer knows a lot about what isn't necessarily shown onscreen, which I think is the only way to go when you vid a source so large and comprehensive as this one. That goes for the other vids as well, and that's what I mean by "unsaid" above. These vids invites the viewer to take an active role; it's not all said because we don't need all of it to be re-told, just specific parts highlighted.

Shame on me that I haven't seen any of these, but yay for new vids to watch :)

But actually, I think I've seen In Exchange for Your Tomorrows before. I think you recced it already ? not sure.
