Notes
I started randomly reading House/Wilson fics to get in the mood for the vid, but quickly stopped after a few. It's by no means a reflection on the writers - a lot of the fics are expertly characterised and well-thought out. But I realised that, to me at least, the House/Wilson dynamic is all about being inchoate; it's about all the things that are passed over unsaid. It doesn't matter if you're talking about their canon friendship or a romantic 'ship, as soon as you say something - anything - out loud, it seems to turn into something very different in nature. It strongly reminds me of the Stuart/Vince dynamic in Queer as Folk UK. (Or for Americans, Brian/Michael, though the UK example is far more apt.) Here are two friends in love with each other, but they'll never say it. It is felt, it's there, that's enough.
This is my first attempt with Adobe Premiere. After some teething problems, I found it surprisingly intuitive and much easier than I'd expected, so that was pleasant. Didn't try anything too fancy, although I plan to explore the program in upcoming vids. I've been watching
heres_luck's Firefly/Serenity vids obsessively over the past few weeks, and becoming increasingly intimidated by her use of motion, so I played with that a bit in this vid. Other than that, there's not much else to be said. The song is introspective and the vid is on the slow side, and there was that whole spiel about the kind of love that has to be passed over in silence, so I'm not expecting a large response, but I'm happy with it personally. I hope it hits the mark with some viewers. :)
