I didn't have school today, and trust me, I had FULL intention of finishing at least ONE overdue essay, but I didn't even open the document until about an hour ago. Instead of homework? Well, there was an iCarly marathon from 2-8 or 7, and of course LJ iCarly communities. I spent the whole day in iCarly fan-mode. And I'm in college. Oh well. Time ( Read more... )

I'm not sure if I'm out of line to ask, and I would completely understand if you didn't want to tell me as you and I don't know each other very well at all, but I am really curious: what happened to you? That gets triggered, I mean. D:

I don't mind. Thanks for asking so politely, by the way. I'll give a short-ish version.

When I was fifteen, I was groped without my consent by a teenage boy, possibly my age or a little older, at Safeway. February 3rd, 2007, to be exact on the date. I was shopping with my mom and younger siblings, and I went off on my own to get a couple boxes of Pocky, ran into a guy I knew from 4/5 grade (he was in 5th when I was in 4th), and one of his friends said he knew me and asked for a hug, and before I knew it he was hugging me and one hand grabbed my bottom. I tried pushing him off, squeaking out a little "Hey!" but he was too strong, and he let me go when he wanted to. I know it wasn't as long as it felt, probably no more than 10-15 seconds. He and his group, including my old classmate and a GIRL WITH THEM, walked off laughing. I told my mom in the car, and she was supportive, but advised against going to the police. (I went to them eventually, which is an entirely different story.) I can't remember the guy's face, voice, or even his skin ( ... )

Oh, wow. Thank you for telling me! That was definitely, incredibly out of line of him. While he may or may not have realized the effect it would have on someone, I certainly hope he's learned a thing or two about respecting people within these last years. That's what we can hope, at least.

That's ridiculous. D: D:
