I think you should ask him. Even if he didn't get it he'll probably think it's really sweet that you did it. And I would bring Hot Fuzz if that's what you want signed.

Definably ask about the scarf - if he didn't get it maybe he'll hunt it down, and if he did get it, how awesome would it be to hear him say thanks?

And I agree with taking the HF dvd to get signed? Is there anything else yo0u could taker for Jess to sign? A Harry Potter dvd maybe :p
