I am Katakura Kojūrō, and I wish to speak with you about the Volunteer Defense Force.

[Figuring that's enough--name and purpose--he hangs up...after a couple seconds.]

[As soon as he receives and checks the message an hour or so later, Hubert calls back. When he hears the telltale click of someone picking up on the other end, he simply says:]

Sir Kojūrō.

[When he recognizes the voice from both the Defense Force recruiting announcement and the voicemail, he knows who he's talking to. He'll follow Hubert's lead on the form of address. Sort of.]

Sir Ozwell. [Pause.] After what has happened recently in Vatheon, I assume you are still accepting volunteers?

[Somewhat more a statement than a question, but a slight question nonetheless!]

[Good, it's the same voice on his end as well. And with a firm, respectful voice that demands its own respect, to boot.]

Yes. The Defense Force is open for volunteers at all times.

Calbert misses her daddy, so let's all go out for a walk later, okay?

[ Work is not boring, Pascal.

When Hubert receives and checks this message, he's quiet. Then he caresses his head in one hand, knowing fully well that Pascal really meant that she wouldn't take "no" for an answer. It's already become the inevitable.

Still, the talk of a puppy and him being the "father" . . .

Hubert won't directly approach Pascal about any of this; instead, he sits at a table, reading, in their residence should she happen upon him. ]

Well, soon enough Pascal and Calbert will be running quickly down the stairs, trying to block the exit so Hubert can't try and get out of this without them knowing. She is pretty shocked to see him just sitting there, but eh. Hubert's kind of weird sometimes look who's talking.

Quickly, she runs up and takes a seat on the table, right in front of Hubert. Calbert hops up on her lap, letting out a small yelp for attention.

And yes, they have matching bff collars. jelly? ]

[ Hubert raises his head slowly when he feels the presence nearby -- and the panting and barking of Calbert. No words can describe the way his brows knit and eyes narrow at the sight of Pascal wearing a matching collar with the puppy.

Trust her to put something that degrading no herself. ]
