A household appliance exploded near them.

[He still wonders how they managed that.]

If it wouldn't be of great inconvenience to you, I will have them to you later in the week -- unless you would prefer another time.

Did you break yours or something?

I am presently using mine. Two other individuals who will remain unnamed broke theirs in a small mishap.

Broken things can still work. What kind of mishap?

Unfortunately, those devices in question are not. [How to put it -- ] There was a mild explosion.

I didn't think breaking them was possible. [Rather he couldn't think of why someone would let them get broken in the first place.]

Nor did I, in truth. And due to a small accident, no less . . .

How's the situation? [He's assuming they probably didn't know of the announcement then.

I learned of the broken communicators after I found one of them in the morning. She reported that she was attacked in the night; however, other than being wet, she appeared to be fine.

I informed her of the curfew. She should have told her companion by now.

These things don't break easily. What did you do to them?

obsequience June 28 2011, 20:56:54 UTC
I didn't do anything to them. They were caught in a small explosion.

Explosion!?

It had next to no impact on the city of Vatheon, considering the presumably small radius it covered; thus, there is no need for concern.
